Understand First US Bancshares, Inc.: how it makes money

First US Bancshares is a bank holding company that provides commercial banking products and services, taking deposits and making loans in areas like commercial construction, land and land development, and agricultural and residential mortgage lending, with additional income tied to its loan and securities portfolios.

For a deposit-funded bank like this, profitability is structurally driven by the spread between the returns earned on its loan and securities portfolios (for example, weighted average portfolio yield and yield on earning assets) and the funding base represented by deposits (for example, core deposits and the loans to deposits ratio), while credit performance shows up in net charge-offs.

Business quality (Solid): You can track the business model using balance-sheet operating metrics (portfolio yield, loans to deposits, and net charge-offs), but there is no clean reportable segment revenue breakdown provided in the facts here.
