CACI provides expertise and technology services to national security and government modernization customers, delivering information solutions, digital solutions, C4ISR, cyber and space, engineering, enterprise IT, and related services, mainly through U.S. government and federal civilian and intelligence programs.

CACI’s profit engine depends on converting its contract pipeline into awarded work, with Contract Awards and Bids Under Evaluation together shaping the Book-to-Bill Ratio and, ultimately, the level of deliverable work coming through its programs.

Business quality (Mixed): In the latest quarter (revenue 2.4B, operating margin 9.7%), CACI’s operating snapshot highlights how contract pipeline conversion matters, with the provided Book-to-Bill Ratio (0.65) and Contract Awards (1.4B) giving an investor read on near-term work inflow.

Valuation: At 19× earnings, CACI trades 39% below the Tech Hardware average (32×). Note: one-time items can distort reported P/E.

Bull case

  • Contract inflow is measurable through awards: Contract Awards were 1.4B, giving a concrete signal of newly won work feeding future delivery activity.
  • Pipeline conversion is tracked via an operating ratio: The company provides Bids Under Evaluation (6.0B) and the Book-to-Bill Ratio (0.65), which together help investors gauge how effectively pipeline is turning into awards.

Bear case

  • Book-to-Bill below 1 can indicate weaker conversion: The Book-to-Bill Ratio is 0.65, which may indicate that, at this snapshot, awards are not keeping pace with the level of bids under evaluation.
  • Working capital timing risk: Days Sales Outstanding is 57.0, which can signal slower cash collection timing versus a faster-turning profile.
