Piotroski F-score (financial strength)

The Piotroski F-score rates a company’s financial strength from 0 to 9 across profitability, leverage, and operating efficiency.

Joseph Piotroski’s F-score awards one point each for nine binary tests of fundamentals: things like positive net income, positive operating cash flow, improving margins, and falling leverage, measured year over year.

A score of 8 or 9 signals improving fundamentals, while 0 to 2 signals deteriorating ones. It was designed to separate strong from weak companies within a value-stock universe.
